The house was filled with joy and laughter. The sound of children’s glee echoed throughout the hallways. They were happy to be spending their Christmas Eve together, all under one roof.
It was a beautiful sight that reminded Harry of his childhood Christmases. The only thing missing was Father Christmas himself – but he knew he wouldn’t disappoint this year either!
“The ugly sweater is so last year.” I muttered to myself as I inspected the black cat Christmas tree sweater my grandma bought me for christmas. “It’s just not very stylish.”
I’m not sure what I expected when I opened up my package full of Christmas sweaters. My cat, Mittens, was sitting on the couch watching TV with me. She looked away to stare at me as I pulled out a beautiful black sweater that had snowflakes sewn into it. “What’s this?” she asked before turning back to watch Animal Planet. “A Christmas sweater for you!” Soon after saying this, she ran off and hid in her bed behind all of her pillows.
After putting on my new sweater, which fit perfectly by the way, I went looking for Mittens so we could go find the perfect tree together. When I saw her curled up in front of the fireplace reading an Archie
I was so excited when I woke up to a package from Amazon on my porch. It was time for Christmas and what better gift than a tree! I took the box inside and ripped it open, tearing away the wrapping paper in haste. Squealing with delight at my new black cat Christmas tree sweater, I threw off my pajamas and put it on overtop of them. The black material outlined by white snowflakes lit up my room with cheer all while making me feel like an adorable kitty-cat princess who lives in winter wonderland.
“Mom, this is so ugly!” Hannah said as she looked at the sweater her mom had just pulled out of the closet. “I cannot wear this in public.”
“Honey, it’s for Christmas! You can’t go wrong with a Black Cat Ugly Sweater on Christmas Eve,” her mom replied. “And there are no black cats around here to steal your sweater anyway”.
The snow fell down from the sky, and it was all around you. You walked to your car and looked at the flakes as they piled up on top of one another. It had been a long time since there had been snow this heavy in town; it felt like ages ago when children would make forts with their friends and build snowmen. As you reached for your keys, something caught your eye: A black cat with green eyes glowed softly in the distance. But before you could get closer, it disappeared again into nothingness…
