I woke up and looked at the calendar. December 25th. Christmas day! I knew it was my turn to host the party this year, but all of my friends were too busy or away for the holiday season. It would be a lot of work to make it happen on my own so I thought about cancelling it until I got an idea in bed one night which changed everything. “Birthday Jesus!”

I made some calls to close family members and asked them if they wanted to come over for a birthday party instead of heading out with their significant others, only letting them know when they arrived that there wouldn’t be any presents because there wasn’t really anyone celebrating their birthdays today, just me being nice because Christmas is

“Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas!”

“Jesus Christ! What’s wrong with you?” My girlfriend shouted as she was about to bump into me. “You’re wearing a sweater for Christmas.” I looked down at the red and green sweater, which had Santa Claus on it, and shrugged my shoulders. “I noticed that too,” said one of my classmates who’s standing near by. The whole class started looking at me like I’m crazy or something, but I wasn’t bothered because they’re all wearing sweaters too.

I was a little disappointed when I found out that all of my friends were going to the party in their regular clothes. I had planned for this day for months, and I wanted to have a sweatered-themed outfit too! Well, there’s no time for changing outfits now or anything like that, so I just went ahead and made myself a Christmas sweater vest from scratch. It fits alright – but it’s not really very comfortable at all.
